MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Select Board voted to allot nearly $480,000 of American Rescue Plan Act funding for four different projects on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
In total, $479,191.64 of ARPA funds were distributed.
The largest slice of the pie, $400,000, will go towards construction of the water and sewer building.
The Housing Authority will receive $59,652.34 to go towards a new generator. Town Administrator Mike Lorenco said the Massachusetts Department of Housing & Community Development is also helping to fund the project.
Technology infrastructure upgrades will cost $15,000. Administrative Assistant Katie Stephanian said this includes upgrading equipment, such as purchasing additional laptops for town employees.
Lastly, $4,539.30 will go towards communication upgrades for the Old Rochester Regional School District.
Lorenco said these upgrades leave the town with $80,000 to $90,000 remaining in ARPA funding.
