MATTAPOISETT — Eddie Doherty of Mattapoisett, an author and retired District Court Clerk-Magistrate, caught this 31 pound striped bass on June 23 at first light on the Cape Cod Canal.

He writes under the pen name of East End Eddie and is the author of “Seven Miles After Sundown.”
