MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Fire Department responded to a house fire on Cove Street in Mattapoisett on the morning of Saturday, July 10, extinguishing the fire and containing it to just one structure, according to a post on the Fire Department’s Facebook page.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the house “heavily involved in a fire” and moved aggressively to control the blaze, successfully containing it before it could spread to neighboring homes.

Fairhaven Fire-EMS provided an engine to the scene along with Marion Fire / EMS. The Rochester Fire Department provided an engine for station coverage.
