This month, the Mattapoisett Historical Society has several events for residents of all ages. Read on to see what’s coming up.

Little Explorers Explore Maritime Art

Children ages 4 to 6 are invited to the Mattapoisett Historical Society Museum on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 3 p.m. to view and talk about art inspired by the sea. Paintings and other pieces of art work in the museum will be examined and then kids will create their own maritime art pieces to take home. The cost is $2 per child. Members attend for free.

Waterfront walking tour

Explore the shipbuilding history of Mattapoisett through an historic Walking Tour with Seth Mendell of the Mattapoisett Historical Society at 5 Church St. on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 2 p.m. The Walking Tour is free with museum admission: $5 for adults, $2 for children ages 6 to 12, members attend for free.

Russian cities talk

Join Seth Mendell for a PowerPoint presentation on six Russian cities with historical commentary on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. Meet at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library, 7 Barstow St. The cost is $5 donation. Members attend for free.
