Mattapoisett Library launches new program for teens

Jul 25, 2020

MATTAPOISETT — The library will start a new at-home activity program for teens in grades 6 to 12, with project kits, related reading suggestions and extension projects.

Projects in August will explore Japanese culture and customs, food, and art. Each STEAM Project To Go will include: supplies for the project, instructions, information about the theme, a library book related to the theme, and ideas for more projects.

To get a STEAM to go project, register at the library's website (mattapoisettlibrary.org) on the calendar or by calling the library. Registration is open until all slots are filled. Registrants will be contacted to arrange pick up. A library card is required for the program.

The library is still hosting teen and adult summer programming, and its scavenger hunt and bingo, are still going on until Aug. 28. Each task that participants complete will earn them a raffle ticket. Each raffle ticket will be put towards one of three gift certificate prizes: a $50 certificate for Nick’s Pizza, $25 for Oxford Creamery, and $25 for The Slip.

The scavenger hunt list or bingo sheet can be picked up at the library at the side door entrance or printed on mattapoisettlibrary.org. Winners will be announced on Aug. 29.
