MATTAPOISETT — Every Wednesday in October, starting Oct.9 at 4 p.m. the Mattapoisett Free Public Library will host a Mad Scientist Laboratory. Students ages 12 can watch ghoulish experiments in the name of science.
The first Wednesday the library will make magnetic slime. Students will learn about slime, create their own, and test the limits of its magnetism. Please register by Sept. 27.
On Oct. 16 teens can create pumpkin catapults to learn about physics. The catapult that sends a pumpkin the farthest will win a prize and bragging rights.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23 young scientists will explore exothermic reactions. The last Mad Scientist session will teach about heart anatomy and give teens the chance to dissect a gelatin heart.
