MATTAPOISETT — Edward Gonet IV of Old Rochester Regional High School and Paul McLaughlin of Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School have been awarded $2,500 Peter B. Hodges memorial scholarships, Mattapoisett Lions Club president Valerie Kane has announced. 

In the fall, Gonet will attend Boston College and will major in business administration. McLaughlin will attend Southern Maine University and will major in mechanical engineering. Both students were recognized for their community service, academic excellence and future goals.

Funds for these awards are raised through the efforts of the Mattapoisett Lions Club's annual Harbor Days Arts and Crafts Festival, as well as various events throughout the year.
