Mattapoisett Lions Club offers $5,000 scholarship

The Mattapoisett Lions Club will award one-$5,000 award this year to a graduating high school student residing in Mattapoisett, Marion, or Rochester.

To qualify a graduating student or homeschooled student, should be enrolled in their first year of a recognized school of higher education, must be a resident of one of the three towns, and have demonstrated service to the community. Special consideration will be given to those looking to a career in an eyesight related field.

Lions also encourage participating in the Lion’s Youth Speech Contest sponsored every year by the Mattapoisett Lion’s Club open to all high school sophomore, juniors and seniors in the area. All applications must be submitted by March 31.
