As many of the thefts have been electronics such as Xboxes, laptops and iPods, Lyons said the police are looking to use available technology to track down some items.

The police department is also evaluating fingerprints found at some of the robberies.

Lyons also said that several officers have been working in drug enforcement.

"We do have an increase in the use of marijuana around," she said, noting recent house searches that turned up packages of marijuana apparently packaged for sale.

Lyons added that a random drug search at the high school last week turned up no drugs though it indicated that several cars had previously contained marijuana. The school will follow up with the cars' owners.

"We're very busy," said Lyons. "But in the scheme of things, it's all good.
