The Mattapoisett Police Officer's Association will host a charity golf tournament on Monday, Oct. 6 to help support local charities and fund community-sponsored events.

Proceeds will assist the association pay for student scholarships and to host concerts, parades and other events. The association also contributes to a local charity called Cops for Kids with Cancer, a non-profit organization that donates to families who need assistance paying medical bills for their child. The tournament will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Allendale Country Club, 1047 Allen St., Dartmouth. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $500 per team or $125 per person. It will be a scramble-style tournament. An awards/dinner banquet will follow the tournament.
