MATTAPOISETT — With the Annual Town Election scheduled for Tuesday, May 19 at Old Hammondtown School, Town Clerk Catherine Heuberger has provided information for citizens on how to vote early. 

She wrote: 

“We understand that many people are concerned about the current public health situation. Therefore, we are encouraging voters to request absentee ballots by mail. This way, your voice can still be heard without the worries and anxiety of exposing yourself to any illnesses.”

Those interested in voting early can visit the Town website for updated information regarding the election or to request an absentee ballot. Voters may also call the Town Clerk’s Office at 508-758-4100 x 2 to request an application for an absentee ballot.

Heuberger asks voters to request ballots now because the forms must be mailed back by the close of polls on election day for votes to count.
