Seahorse Summer Explorers

Mattapoisett Recreation is excited to launch their second year of Seahorse Summer Explorers. The program runs for 8 weeks starting June 22^nd through August 14^th and is open to Tri-Town girls and boys entering grades 1-6 in September.  Each week explorers will enjoy fun filled days of sports, arts & crafts, swimming, tennis, library visits and more! Every week is a different theme with new activities and adventures. Director Kate Oleson is returning as are many of your favorite counselors!  Program options include Weekly Full or Half Day and Choose your Day.  $170 Weekly Full Day, $90 Weekly Half Day, $40 Choose your Full Day or $30 Choose your Half Day. Early Bird discounted registration deadline is April 25^th.

Summer Musical Theatre

Children will sign, dance, and act in the musical “Frozen”. Program runs July 13 through July 17 from 9am-3pm at OHS Cafetorium.  This program is designed for girls and boys ages 5-13. Performance will be held on the last day of class. Cost is $155 and registration deadline is June 29^th.

Nature Explorers

In conjunction with the Marion Natural History Museum children will explore some of Mattapoisett’s unique natural areas including Aucoot Beach, Mattapoisett River, Salt Marshes, Eel Pond & Ned’s Point. They will also visit with a local Aquaculture operation, the Harbormaster and Shellfish Officer.  Each day they will enjoy endless activities including hands on exploration, experiments, crafts and journaling while being outdoors. This program runs July 20^th through July 24^th from 9am-12pm and costs $125.  Registration deadline is July 6^th and is perfect for girls and boys ages 8-11.

Tennis Lessons

Join Mattapoisett Recreation and Jake Jaskolka to offer a 4 week tennis program.  Jake is a Former ORRHS Tennis Captain, current UMass Dartmouth Tennis Player & Assistant Tennis Pro at Mattapoisett Casino tennis club for the past 4 years.  Lessons will be held on Monday and Wednesday and will consist of instruction and game play. Co-ed lessons begin on July 13^th, ages 5-8 at 5:30pm and 9+ at 6:30pm.

Swimming Lessons

Swimming Lessons will be held at the Mattapoisett Town Beach and taught by our certified swimming instructors. Each weekly session is held Tuesday through Friday.  All swimming testing will be done on the Monday of each week.  Lessons start June 29^th . Group lessons cost $30- per week and run from 9:45am-1pm, depending on level.  Private lessons will be held at 9am and cost $125 for 5 lessons or $225 for 10 lessons. Registration deadline is June 15^th.
