Mattapoisett Recreation summer programs

Nature Explorers Camp July 20th-July 24th.

Explore Mattapoisett’s unique natural areas including Eel Pond, Ned’s Point, Mattapoisett River, salt marshes and aquaculture operations. From July 20 to 24 kids will participate in different activities including hands on exploration, experiments, crafts, and journaling.

The program is run in conjunction with the Marion Natural History Museum by Director/Lead Educator Elizabeth Leidhold. The program is geared towards girls and boys ages 8 to 11. Space is limited.

Seahorse Explorers Camp

The Seahorse Explorers Camp runs for eight weeks starting June 22 through Aug. 14. Seahorse Explorers is open to girls and boys entering grades K to 6. Each week explorers will enjoy sports, arts and crafts, swimming, tennis, library visits and more.

Every week is a different theme with new activities and adventures. Director Kate Oleson is returning as are many counselors. Program options include weekly full or half day and choose your day. The cost is $170 weekly full day, $90 weekly half-day, $40 choose your full day. Space is limited so sign up today. Program is now full: Youth tennis clinics
Mattapoisett Recreation is offering youth tennis lessons for girls and boys age 5 and up at the Hammond Street tennis courts.

Mattapoisett resident Jake Jaskolka will teach the clinics and has taught at Marion Indoor Tennis, Dartmouth Tennis Club and The Casino tennis club for the past four years.

Session runs July 13 to Aug. 5 on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Ages 5 to 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., 9 and over from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Space is limited.

Youth swimming lessons
Swimming lessons will be taught by certified instructors beginning June 29 and running every week through the summer. Options include group and private lessons. Class times determined by swimming level.

Your child will be evaluated and placed in an appropriate class. Class size is limited.
