MATTAPOISETT – The Mattapoisett Republican Party invites all to its monthly meeting Thursday, Feb. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 57 Fairhaven Road. There will be discussion on local initiatives, ideas and support of candidates in future elections. 

At 7 p.m., Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz will join as a guest speaker. Cruz will discuss District Attorney Office updates, crime statistics, impact on new gun restrictions and immigration. There will also be a Q&A.

“Tim Cruz has worked to protect and promote the public safety of nearly 500,000 residents in Plymouth County,” a press release said. “A partial list of his many accomplishments includes Chair of the Plymouth County Drug Abuse Task Force, President of the MA District Attorney’s Association, Member of the National District Attorney’s Association Opioid Working Group and developed the Childhood Trauma Initiative’s-Handle With Care Program.”
