MATTAPOISETT — Scallop season is set to open on Oct. 15 for commercial and recreational fishing in the outer harbor and for recreational fishing in the inner harbor and at Brandt Island Cove.

On Nov. 1 all areas will be open to commercial and recreational fishing.

The motion to open scallop season was passed at a Oct. 5 Select Board meeting.
