Mattapoisett School Committee recognizes Duggan, Brammer

The Mattapoisett School Committee recognized two long-time staff members on its Monday night meeting.

Lynda Duggan is leaving her post as the Old Hammondtown School librarian after serving the school for 32 years.

School Committee Chair Jim Higgins praised Duggan, saying she has championed literacy at OHS and has been the “go to” person on the school’s history.

“Her dedication to the students will always standout as her legacy with the Mattapoisett School System,” Higgins said.

He also highlighted the service of Kris Brammer, who has taught at both Center School and OHS over the past 27 years.

Brammer started out as a technology teacher at Center School before moving to teach fifth grade at OHS.

“The students thrived as they experienced the fifth grade curriculum under Mrs. Brammer’s calm presence,” said Higgins.

The School Committee purchased books dedicated to each woman that will be added to the OHS library.
