Mattapoisett skatepark temporarily closed for fire station construction

Jun 25, 2020

MATTAPOISETT — The town’s skatepark closed on April 16 as a coronavirus precaution, but it will remain closed until the completion of the Fire Department’s new station which is being built nearby.

Town Administrator Michael Lorenco said in an email to Sippican Week that it will not be going anywhere.

Some structures may be moved to accommodate the building project, he said, but the fire station was designed with the skatepark in mind.

Skaters, bikers, and scooter riders will be able to use the park once again when the fire station is completed.
