The Elks of Wareham Lodge No. 1548 selected Old Rochester Regional High School senior Thais Gorgonha of Mattapoisett as its November Student of the Month.

The lodge sponsors Elks Student of the Month and Students of the Year awards for students enrolled in local high schools. The criteria used in nominating a student includes a student who excels in scholarship, citizenship, performing arts, fine arts, hobbies, athletics, church, school and community service, industry and farming.

Gorgonha was chosen by ORR faculty and staff due to her work ethic and positive attitude towards learning. She is graduating a year early based on her hard work and with the desire to begin college sooner.
