Mattapoisett Woman’s Club announces ‘Taste of the Town without the tent’

Jun 26, 2021

MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Woman’s Club is holding its annual “Taste of the Town” event in a decentralized format for the second year in a row this summer, with the goal of returning to an in-person gathering in 2022.

The event — which for years was held under a tent during the Harbor Days festival — will this year be represented by 12 weeks of featured restaurants.

Each week, the group will highlight a different restaurant that has contributed to its scholarship fund by putting a special sign in front of the door encouraging people to come have a meal and show their appreciation.

Participating restaurants include: The Seaport Slip, Oxford Creamery, Tastebuds Bistro, Inn at Shipyard Park, Nick’s Pizza, Turk’s Seafood, Walrus and Captain, On the Go, Pandolfi’s Mattapoisett Diner, Shipyard Galley, Uncle Jon’s Coffee, and Ying Dynasty.

The Mattapoisett Woman’s Club has continued its charitable works throughout the pandemic including scholarship awards totaling $5000 to Mattapoisett students; daffodil bulbs planted in public gardens; seasonal container plantings at the Mattapoisett Post Office, Town Beach, Mattapoisett Library, Town Hall, Town Harbor; plus garden maintenance at various public locations.
