January events at Elizabeth Taber library
MARION — Multiple events and book clubs are taking place this winter at the Elizabeth Taber Library. The library is located at 8 Spring St. Registration is required for some events.
Banned Book Club. The Banned Book Club will be discussing John Berendt's “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Check out a copy at the circulation desk today.
Creative Writing Club. Kids looking to practice their storytelling skills are invited to join the library’s creative writing club.
This club is designed for students in grades first through sixth. The club will meet the second and fourth Monday of the month at 3 p.m. The first meeting is on Jan. 12.
Each meeting will include a prompt and discussion about an element of creative writing, free writing time, and time to share writing with others.

Make a reading tracker. Adults ages 18 and up are invited to join the library to make a reading tracker on Tuesday, Jan. 13 between 6 and 7:30 p.m.
Cozy Cup Book Club. The Cozy Cup Book Club will be reading Vera Wong's “Guide to Snooping (on a dead man)” in January.
The club meets on Jan. 14 and Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. Check out a copy at the circulation desk and attend one or both meetings. As always, coffee and tea are provided.
