New Bedford's Symphony Orchestra visits Taber Library
On Saturday, March 24th, the Elizabeth Taber Library sponsored a performance of the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra's program, “Symphony Tales.”
In this program, pre-school through early elementary school children attend a reading of a children's book while being accompanied by a live, musical performance by a New Bedford Symphony Orchestra musician.
Local author, Kimberly Marcus read her book, “Scritch Scratch a Perfect Match.”
Dr. David MacKenzie, music director for the Orchestra performed the Symphony Tale's piece with cellist, Shay Rudolph.
Following the program, the children participated in activities with New Bedford Symphony Orchestra Education Coordinator, Terry Wolkowicz.
Each child got the opportunity to play a small cello, and every family was given signed copies of “Scritch Scratch a Perfect Match,” donated by Pam and Harry Norweb.
