Friends of Plumb Library meeting
The Friends of Plumb Library will hold their fall members meeting on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 11:30 a.m. in the library. Following the business portion of the meeting, authors Elaine and Karin Tammi will discuss their book, "Scallops: A New England Coastal Cookbook" and demonstrate the cooking of a scallop chowder.
The public is welcome to attend.

Nonfiction Book Discussion Group
The Nonfiction Book Discussion Group is reading "Moby Duck: The True Story of 28,000 Bath Toys lost at Sea and of the Beachcombers, Oceanographers, Environmentalists and Fools, Including the Author, Who Went," by Donovan Hohn.
Hohn become obsessed with the story of a container ship that lost some of its containers, one holding bathtub toys. He travels from Alaska to Hawaii to Japan following the trail of the toys.
The group will discuss this book on Thursday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m.

Cafe Parlez
Cafe Parlez will be discussing "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie on Monday, November 28, 6:30 p.m.
This book for teens, written by one of the best Native American writers in the country, tells the story of Junior, a budding cartoonist growing up on the Spokane Indian reservation and his experiences at an all-white school where the only other Indian is the school mascot.
Books will be available at the desk.
