The sixth graders of Old Hammondtown School in Mattapoisett competed against their teachers for a lively game of basketball.

The charity game, which was held Friday night, brought in boxes of canned food and dry goods for Saint Vincent de Paul’s food pantry. The game, in its fifth year, was originally held at Old Hammondtown but has since been relocated to the Old Rochester Regional High School gym

“It’s gotten so big we need the high school gym,” said physical education teacher Chad Cabeceiras, who organized the event with help from Michael Bowman as well as parents and faculty.

With a halftime show by Old Hammondtown Dance Team and music from the school's Pep Band, the two teams duked it out on the court.

In the end, the students were victorious with a score of 72 to 69 for the teachers.
