MATTAPOISETT — A groundbreaking program at Old Rochester Regional Junior High School will be celebrating 50 years later this summer.
The 50th reunion of Survival, a weeklong camping trip for seventh graders, will be Saturday, Aug. 17, 4 p.m. at Ned’s Point.
Survival began in 1973.
The event is for alumni of the program to “mingle with other Survival folks, share stories and catch up,” material announcing the event said.
“Join us to celebrate 50 years of a shared road to a stronger self,” the material said.
Snacks and dinner will be available for purchase from local food trucks.
“Fifty years of hard work and dedication deserves to be celebrated,” the announcement material said. “A program like this could not run for 50 years without each individual person.”
