Old Rochester Regional High School athletic director steps down

MATTAPOISETT— Old Rochester Regional High School Athletic Director Bill Tilden is stepping  down from the position he has held for 16 years. 

Old Rochester Regional High School Principal Mike Devoll announced Tilden’s retirement from the role during the school’s commencement on Saturday, June 3. 

“I’ll never say ‘retire’ because I don't think he could handle any free time,” said Devoll. “Thank you [Tilden] for the past 16 years as an outstanding athletic director and a friend to all who have worn the Bulldog.”

Devoll said that Tilden will continue to coach sports at the high school. 

Tilden said that he hopes to devote his newly-found free time to field maintenance. 

“I want to take care of one of the things that needs a lot of work, which is the [athletic] fields,” said Tilden. “It’s time for a change.”
