Old Rochester Regional receives grant for meals program
The Eos Foundation awarded a $6,425 grant to the Old Rochester Regional School District to continue its meals program while students learn remotely.
Through the program, breakfast and lunch are available to children and students ages 0 to 21 at the high school, Center School, Sippican Elementary School, and Rochester Memorial School for free. On Fridays, families can pick up enough meals to cover breakfast and lunch on both Friday and Saturday.
“We want everyone to know that these healthy meals are available to every child and young adults. Parents or caregivers can pick up meals on children’s behalf to help ensure safe social distancing,” said Superintendent Doug White. “We know that home food supplies are running low and it’s important to try to keep people out of the supermarkets. This is a federally funded program, and the food is nutritious, so please come take your meals and spread the word.”
The four sites serve meals Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
