MATTAPOISETT — One man was transported to the hospital, and North Street closed for a few hours after a head on collision between two trucks on June 3. 

At around 1:47 p.m. a 10 wheeler truck and pickup truck collided near 193 North Street. The driver of the pickup truck was the only one in the vehicle, and had to be removed with the jaws of life. The driver of the 10 wheeler had no injuries. 

Both vehicles were significantly damaged to the point where they had to be towed, and leaked fluid. The Department of Environmental Protection was called in to oversee the cleanup effort.

The last of the first responders left the scene at 4:51 p.m.
