Jayce Kouta of Old Rochester Regional High School received a $700 scholarship from the SouthCoast Community Foundation at its award ceremony on July 28.

The recent graduate was awarded the Ladies' Branch of the New Bedford Port Society. At the ceremony, more than $540,000 was awarded to 84 recipients throughout the region.

“Scholarship season is always a highlight for the Community Foundation,” director of engagement for the SouthCoast Community Foundation Sarah Rose said. “Giving deserving students the ability to further their education and enabling scholarship funders the ability to help those students realize their dreams is a win-win.”
