The Old Rochester Regional varsity boys basketball team fell to Somerset-Berkley Regional High School 81-61 Friday night in a match up between the top two teams in the South Coast Conference Large division.

Somerset-Berkley's overpowering defense and relentless 3-point shooting led the way for the entirety of the game.

Though ORR was able to score 21 points in the second quarter, the team was down 43-33 at halftime. The Bulldogs never gained enough momentum in the second half to overcome the deficit.

Somerset Berkley had sixteen 3-pointers, led by their top scorer, senior guard Liam McDonald. McDonald landed seven 3-point shots on his way to 25 points. Old Rochester was led by junior guard Nick Johnson who had 21 points, including the teams only two 3-point baskets.

The Bulldogs’ next match up will be held at Joseph Case High School on Tuesday Feb. 5.
