ORR boys tennis bests Bishop Stang, falls to Dartmouth

The Old Rochester Regional High School boys tennis team started off its season with a 5-0 victory against Bishop Stang High School but followed that up with a 0-5 loss to Dartmouth High.

On Tuesday, first singles Alden Truesdale defeated Lenny Murphy in two matches, both 6-3.

Lars Eklund bested Owen Leary 6-0 ad 6-3 in second singles.

Alex Bilodeau, third singles, also beat Bishop Stang's Liam Kidd 6-0 and 6-2.

First doubles Doug Blias and Josh Lerman defeated Dylan Soule and Marc Rise 6-3 and 6-1 while Ben Chiron and Lorenzo Dube of Bishop Stang couldn't get in a point against ORR second doubles Connor Blagden and Stephen Burke.

Wednesday found the team struggling against Dartmouth with Truesdale bested by Christ Ouellette 1-6 and 2-6. Eklund couldn't keep up with Max Lindblom in 2nd singles 1-6, 1-6.

In third singles, the scores were closer. Bilodeau faced Dartmouth's Lucas Almeida with 6-4, 6-7 and 6-10.

First doubles pair Stephen Burke and Lermon were bested 2-6 and 3-6 by Christian Machado and Colin Burke. Second doubles Mazz Wolski and Sean Nutter took a back seat to Nick Starrett and Pat Thornton 3-6 and 4-6.

The season record stands as 1-1.

On Tuesday, the team plays Dighton-Rehoboth High School away followed by a home game against Bourne High on Thursday.
