ORR cheerleaders compete at Disney
Feb 15, 2013
While flurries fell on the South Coast, the Old Rochester Regional Junior High Red Squad was in sunny Florida at its first National High School Cheerleading Championship.
The team won an entry into the competition in November, and raised approximately $12,000 for the 12 girls on the squad to compete at Disney World during the weekend of February 8.
While the girls did not place in the top ranks at Nationals, coach Patricia McArdle said, “As corny as it sounds, these girls truly knew that it was an honor and a great accomplishment to be competing among these top cheerleading teams. It was a great show and we had a lot of fun.”
