ORR Drama Club to present Macbeth as outdoor film event

MATTAPOISETT — For its spring production, the Old Rochester Regional High School Drama Club will present a new original full-length movie: Macbeth - An Outdoor Film Event.

The tragedy of Macbeth will come to life on the big screen on Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22 at the ORRHS Softball Field.

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for an 8:30 p.m. showtime.

Guests should bring lawn chairs, blankets and an extra layer of clothing to stay cozy, and are asked to remain in their “pods” or physically distanced groups throughout the show.

Refreshments will be available for a cash donation in the concession area. There will be no indoor access, although a Port-a-John will be on site. 

According to directors Beth Trout and Matthew Houde, Macbeth is a play about the desire to have it all while not caring who you hurt along the way.

Macbeth and Banquo, two generals from King Duncan’s army, fight both physical and mental battles to move up the line of succession and become King of Scotland.

Leading roles include Tyler Trudeau starring as Macbeth and Chloe Bean as Lady Macbeth.

The cast also includes Isabel Friedrichs, Lee Grondin, Jimmy Harrington, Bessie Pierre ‘21, Jessica Vance ‘21, and Max Tucker.

Assistant Director is Margaret Berry ‘21, Stage Manager is Bailey Gosse, costumes were created by Marina Stephens ‘21, set design and poster art by Taylor Green, and lighting by Cooper Newton ‘21.

The camera operator is Chris Bell and film editors are Margaret Berry and Chris Bell.

Tickets are for sale through Eventbrite or at the door as capacity allows. They cost $30 per carload (max. 6 per car).
