Sippican School is sponsoring a program designed to assist parents to become more knowledgeable in effective child rearing.

Jim Fitzpatrick, a therapist and school counselor, will share his 40 years of experiences working with parents and children. Four group sessions will focus on understanding the stages of development, the effective and ineffective methods of discipline and a review of the different philosophies of parenting.

Meetings will be held at Sippican School on Nov. 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 7 to 8 p.m. Parents from schools and towns outside of Marion are welcome to attend. The fee is $25; all proceeds will benefit the Volunteers at Sippican Elementary Program (V.A.S.E.). For more information or to register, call 508-748-0100. Enrollment is limited.
