Patricia J. Sarson, 85, of Pinehurst Beach, Wareham, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday Sept. 18 after a battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her loving husband John “Jack” Sarson, a well-known sports figure from the Brockton area who died in 2002.

Mrs. Sarson was the youngest child of the late William and Hannah (Burke) Clifford. Pat was a devoted wife, a loving mother, an energetic grandmother and great grandmother. Her life revolved around her children, husband and their involvement in Brockton sports. After retiring to Wareham, her Pinehurst Beach community and St. Patrick’s Church, friends became her most wonderful support group. She will be remembered fondly for her generous heart, quick smile, and sparkling blue eyes!

She leaves behind her five children; John and Marguerite Sarson of Marion, Jean Sarson of East Bridgewater, Tom and Nancy Sarson of Lewis Center, Ohio, Ruth and Matt Terry of Katy, Texas and Richard Sarson of Atlanta, Georgia.  She will be missed by her 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 25 at 10:15 a.m. from the Wareham Village Funeral Home 5 Center St., Wareham. Followed by her funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint Patrick’s Church, 82 High St. Wareham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Wareham Village Funeral Home. Burial will be on Friday following the Mass at 12:45 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Bennington Blvd. Bourne.
