MARION — The Marion Police Brotherhood combined two popular kids attractions at a Dec. 8 holiday event: pizza and the chance to tell Santa what’s on their wish list for the year.
Police Chief John Garcia played the role of Santa, and said that “this is what Christmas is all about, seeing the kids and making them happy.”
Garcia wasn’t the only public official in character for the holiday spirit. Wareham Town Clerk Michele Bissonnette dressed as Mrs. Claus.
She said that seeing how the kids have changed and grown from previous years is her favorite part of the annual event, and that “Christmas spirit is alive and well when you come to this room.”
While kids told Santa Claus what they wanted for Christmas this year, they were also treated to pizza donated by The Brewfish Bar and Eatery.
The Police Brotherhood also accepted donations for their holiday toy drive during the event.
