Plumb Library schedule for June
Registration for participation in Plumb Library’s summer reading program is now open through July 4. To register, go to plumblibrary.com.
Programs for the month of June include:
Brain Circus at the Congregational Church: Thursday, June 23 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for ages 5 and over.
Ride Your Bike to the Library Day: Saturday, June 25, 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Yoga for relaxation at Studio 105: Sunday, June 26, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. For adults only.
Toe Jam Puppet Band workout: Wednesday, June 29 from 10:30 until 11:15 a.m.
Deer ticks and Lyme disease: On Monday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m., the library will host Larry Dapsis from the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Service for a talk about deer ticks and Lyme disease. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Donations sought: Throughout the month of June, the Friends of Plumb Library are collecting clean, used clothing, linens and shoes. Donations can be left at the library during regular business hours until the end of the month.
Just the Facts book club: The Just the Facts nonfiction book club will discuss “A Kim Jong-Il Production: The Extraordinary True Story of a Kidnapped Filmmaker, His Star Actress, and a Young Dictator’s Rise to Power” by Paul Fischer on Thursday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m. Copies are available at the desk at the library.
Café Parlez book club: The Café Parlez book club has chosen “Shutter Island” by Dennis Lehane to read for June. The book discussion is scheduled for Thursday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. Copies are available at the desk at the library.
Rochester COA book group: The Rochester Council on Aging book group will discuss “The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet” by Jamie Ford on June 14 at 10:15 a.m. at the Senior Center. Copies of the book are available at the library, and the group requests attendants bring their library cards.
STEM: The library will host STEM hands-on activities for children ages 3 to 6. There will be programs June 21 to 24. The programs will be from 10:30 until 11:15 a.m. on June 21, 22 and 24. On June 23, the program will be at 1:30 until 2:15 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call the Early Childhood Office at 508-748-1863.
