Plymouth County presents two large checks to Rochester Select Board
ROCHESTER — The Rochester Select Board was met at its Monday, Dec. 2 meeting by Plymouth County Treasurer Tom O’Brien, State Sen. Michael Rodrigues and two large checks, in both size and value.
On behalf of Plymouth County, O’Brien presented the two checks to the board that represented American Rescue Plan Act funds of $413,605.
More than half of the county funds, $234,085, will go towards public safety radios.
The remaining $179,520 will be used for turnout gear, or personal protective equipment, for Rochester firefighters.
“This gives me a chance to compliment the team you have here in Rochester,” said O’Brien. “You’ve got a great team. They've been very diligent in working through our process.”
Rodrigues said the equipment covered by the checks is “very important.”
“All of you is where the rub hits the road, and you’re the ones who provide the most vital services to the constituents, to the citizens that we represent,” said Rodrigues to the Select Board.
