Mattapoisett police are prepared to handle a large crowd of people, possibly numbering in the thousands, ahead of Lance Corporal Matthew R. Rodriguez's wake.

Rodriguez is from Fairhaven but has Mattapoisett ties. He was killed in action in Afghanistan on Dec. 11.

His wake will be Sunday at the Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home on Route 6. Police will offer a parking shuttle bus service for patrons departing near Center School and St. Anthony’s Church to the funeral parlor starting at 1 p.m.
