Oct 14, 2021

MARION — The Marion Police Department is warning residents of scams related to the ongoing boil water order in the Tri-Town.

Residents should be aware of possible scams that have recently caused concern in the Tri-Town area.

According to the department and in addition to the Social Security, Grandchild and Covid-19 scams, the recent boil water order has led to some individuals and companies possibly attempting to prey on the fear of contaminated water.

Police recommend the use of sound judgement and research including checking complaints with the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org), before deciding if it is necessary to part with your money.

Call the Police Department at 508-748-1212 if you have questions.
