Positions opening at Old Colony, Town Hall

Jun 7, 2016

The Rochester Board of Selectmen announced two upcoming retirements and subsequent open positions at their meeting on Monday.

Jana Cavanaugh from the Board of Assessors and Old Colony Superintendent Frank Coté have both submitted letters of resignation. Cavanaugh’s retirement will be effective June 30, while Cote’s final day will be Oct. 31.

Cavanaugh is a teacher at Rochester Memorial School. In order to get her pension, she has to end employment with the town, so she will be leaving her position with the assessors as well.

Following her retirement, the remaining assessors and the Selectmen will appoint someone to fulfill the position until the next town elections in April 2017. Selectmen Chair Naida Parker said Cavanaugh is looking to retire and then be re-appointed by the assessors and Selectmen, but other interested candidates are asked to put their names in the hat as well.

Old Colony is also asking interested candidates for the superintendent position to submit their names and contact information for consideration.
