Preserve Marion's future
To the Editor:
I wish to thank Norman Hills who, in his Letter to the Editor, corrected the circumstances of the donation to the town of the Marion Town House.
In recruiting Elizabeth Taber as a metaphor for having given away what her academy no longer needed, I referenced folklore, which is blurrier than history.
Leaving faulty metaphors aside, however, I still think the point of my letter stands, with respect to the question of investing in the renovation of the Town House: When resources are limited we have to sometimes choose between preserving the past and preserving the future.
I urge the THBC and the Marion Selectmen and the people of the town to make the choice to preserve the future, by making use of the donated VFW property as the site for a new municipal facilities.
