'From Purgatory to Podunk'
Debbie and Peter Lincoln, retired school teachers, have made it their business to visit every city and town in the commonwealth, and they have a fun and interactive program to show for it.
"From Purgatory to Podunk," a presentation on their adventure, will be given at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14th. A light luncheon will be served first, so please call the library to make a reservation at 508-758-4171.
Debbie and Pete are lifelong residents of Massachusetts, graduates of Tufts University, and retired high school teachers from Lunenburg. They began their visits to each of the 351 towns in 2007 and decided to photograph, study and compile information on each one.
They have developed an informative, entertaining, interactive and illustrated program from the material they've gathered, that has delighted audiences in libraries and community halls around the state.
Filled with anecdotes, little-known history, hidden locales, as well as their own mishaps, the Lincolns be presenting this free two-hour presentation at the library, in collaboration with the Council on Aging. They were recently featured on the "Callie Crossley Show" on WGBH radio.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the presentation at the library, located at 7 Barstow Street in Mattapoisett Village. The building is handicapped accessible.
