Raymond Bachand, 81
Raymond E. Bachand, 81, of Osterville died July 27 in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis. He was the husband of Eleanor A. (Iannazzi) Bachand and the son of the late Lionel and Celina (Dupuis) Bachand. He was born in New Bedford and lived in Fairhaven and Osterville for many years.
He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Air Force.
Mr. Bachand worked as a sales representative for Table Talk Pies and Cains for many years. He then owned and operated Ray’s Cape Cod Delivery and later worked for Wise Snack Foods as the Cape Cod supervisor.
He was a member of the Clark-Haddad American Legion Post 188 in Sandwich and was a life member of the Cape Cod Chapter #90 D.A.V. He was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor A. (Iannazzi) Bachand; his children, Donna Donnelly of Fairhaven, Cheryl Alves of Rochester, Marianne Donnelly of Fairhaven and Raymond Bachand of Florida; his stepchildren, Linda Raymond of Middleboro, Marilyn Marshalsea of Middleboro, Cynthia Byrne of Wrentham, Charles Marshalsea, Jr. of Florida and Marianne Mendes of West Wareham; a sister, Jacqueline Haley of Rhode Island; his former wife, Theresa Reynolds of Fairhaven; seven grandchildren, Joshua, Leland, Adam, Steven, Kimberly, Faith and Molly; three great grandchildren, Erika, Samantha and Hailey; eight step grandchildren, Ryan, Thomas, Kevin, Kelly, Matthew, Michael, Gina and Maddison. He was the father of the late Robert and Stephen Bachand and brother of the late Lucille Marashio and Vivian Lemaire.
His funeral/prayer service will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 1 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway in Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
