Fitness Room is up and running
The Fitness Room is open and available for members to use. Become a member by paying a $20 per month membership fee, and then use the equipment as many times as the room is open in that month. The schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays, 8 to 11 a.m., and Fridays 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. As membership grows, so will the hours. A packet with required registration forms to participate is available at the Senior Center office. Anyone is may join. Call Tammy, the group leader, at 508-763-8723 for information.
May Council on Aging day trips

Saturday, May 14 – “Bark in the Park,” is a free festival in Plymouth with pet-related vendors. The group will leave at 9:30 a.m. and return at 2 p.m.

Thursday, May 19 – Duxbury Library is holding a free historic coloring night. The COA group will have an early supper at the Milepost in Duxbury. Leave at 4 p.m. and return at 9 p.m.

Saturday, May 21 – The Taste of Hingham Festival. Leave at 8:30 a.m. and return at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, May 24 – A trip to the Wrentham Outlets and lunch at Cracker Barrel. Leave at 8:30 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m.
Old Colony students offer computer classes
The IT students from the vocational school will be at the Senior Center on Friday, May 20 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Any senior who has computer-related questions, or who wants to learn more about using a computer, may sign-up in advance to participate by calling 508-763-8723.
Free manicures
The Old Colony cosmetology students will offer free manicures to anyone interested at the Senior Center on Thursday, May 12 at 9:45 a.m. No appointment is necessary.
ZUMBA Gold
ZUMBA® Gold classes, with instructor Pati Cautillo, will be held on Mondays from 3 to 4 p.m. ZUMBA Gold for active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba class that recreates the original moves at a lower intensity. The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. This is a punch card class paid directly to instructor. Punch cards are $20 for five classes. No advance sign-up is necessary.
Functional Fitness Class
This class started May 3 and runs every Tuesday for six weeks from 10 to 11 a.m. Certified personal fitness instructor Tammy Webster will focus on increasing muscle and core strength, balance, endurance and rehabilitating old and new injuries.
The donation is $5 per class. Once the six-week session is over, there will be a week off before the next session begins. Pre-registration is requested by calling the Senior Center at 508-763-8723. This is a high energy, fast paced class. Anyone is welcome to come.
Board members wanted
The Rochester Council on Aging is always looking for prospective board members in case of a future vacancy. If interested, send a letter of interest to the Rochester Council on Aging at the Senior Center.
Luncheon May 23
Mike and Ann Cambra will hold a special luncheon on May 23 at noon. There is a suggested donation of $4. Pre-registration recommended.

Congregate lunches (from Coastline Elderly) – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 11:30 a.m., $2 suggested donation per person, per day. 24-hour advanced is registration required. Call 508-763-8723 to sign-up.

Ye Olde Breakfast Shoppe is open for business Mondays through Fridays, 7 to 9 a.m. Anyone of any age and any town is welcome.
- New release DVD movies are shown on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend this free event. Call by Wednesday to find out what movie will be playing that Friday. Movies are received through Netflix.
