Rochester Country Fair to be rescheduled, one day only

Jun 28, 2022

The return of Rochester Country Fair has been rescheduled for the fall.

The Select Board accepted a request by the fair on Monday, June 27, to move the fair to Oct. 1 for one day only, with the hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“There’s no details of what they’re doing, but I see no reason not to consider this,” said Select Board member Woody Hartley, who added that he would ask them for an agenda of the day’s activities.

He said that Kelly Sullivan-Morgado of the fair’s board of directors could present more details before the board once the schedule was ironed out.

The fair was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid. The 2019 fair had a shortened schedule because of an outbreak of Eastern equine encephalitis, also known as EEE.

Organizers said in February that they still hope to bring back popular attractions, including tractor and pulls, pie-eating contests, craft vendors, children’s play areas and food.
