Rochester Country Fair

ROCHESTER — The Country Fair will take place on Aug. 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Both days will have events that run all day. These include corn hole, beach volleyball, beer and wine for the adults, an antique tractor pull, livestock and a petting zoo and corn box for children. 

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday the event will have antique tractor pulls. 10 to 11:30 a.m. will offer a variety of kids activities, including a water relay and hula hoop contest. The Princess of New Bedford, Spiderman and other characters will also be at the fair from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

Gary Farias will also provide music at that time, and there will also be a goat show. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a mad science demonstration, while 1 to 4 p.m. will bring a fiddle and banjo contest. Drums Alive! will be at the fair from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. In the middle of that time there will also be a pie eating contest. At 6 p.m. on Saturday there will be a sheep show. 

The Sunday events will kick off with slab and garden tractor pulls at 9 a.m. Skip Daniels magicians will entertain kids from 10 to 11 a.m., then they can participate in Nerf Olympics, a sack race and other activities from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. From noon to 4 p.m. there will be a corn hole tournament, and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. there will be a simultaneous horseshoe tournament. 

The food-themed competitions continue, with an ice cream eating contest from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and a pie bake-off from 2 to 3 p.m. There will also be modified truck and tractor pulls from 1 to 6 p.m. and live music throughout the day.
