ROCHESTER — Town residents came together last Monday to support the Congregational Church in their annual participation of The Samaritans Purse — Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Mission.
Rochester Boy Scout Troop 31, Junior Friends of the Plumb Library and Congregational Church members made up over 75 people who filled the church’s Friendship Hall to stuff 300 wrapped shoe boxes with clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, toys and hand-crafted cards.
The boxes will be shipped to impoverished countries for children ages 2 to 14 for the holidays.
