Rochester fire uses horse sense to rescue animal stuck on ice
Feb 4, 2025
ROCHESTER — When an equine slipped on ice, the Rochester Fire Department didn’t horse around.
The department received a call Monday morning Feb. 3 that a horse on Bates Road had apparently slid on ice and was unable to get up on its own, the department reported.
Department members worked for about an hour to reposition the animal onto solid ground.
The horse was then able to stand on his own power.
The animal was apparently uninjured _ and no doubt grateful for the help of his new friends.
