ROCHESTER — The Rochester Historical Society’s new exhibit will be debuting the weekend of Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23 along with an expanded two-day historic fair.
The exhibit is titled “Past Pastimes - How We Entertained Ourselves for the Last 337 Years.” The museum will have pieces on display, like an early bathing suit, a set of cement children's blocks and board games from the 1950s and 1960s.
The fair — an “Historic Fair with a Colonial Flair” — will have several activities for children and adults.
The activities will also help prepare for celebrations of the upcoming 250th birthday of the USA, the Rochester Historical Society said.
Fair activities will include a living history exhibition, a chance to practice mustering like a colonial soldier, a scavenger hunt, a bake sale, a treasure hunt using compasses, old games and more. There will also be music from the Buzzard Bay Buccaneers.
