Rochester painters showcase talents at COA art show

ROCHESTER — Six painters exhibited and sold their work at a Saturday Art Show and Sale at the Rochester Senior Center, showcasing a wide variety of techniques and subjects.

Helen S. Johnson and Janet McDonald paint in watercolor, while Betty Beaulieu paints in both watercolor and oil. Lynette Torres uses watercolor, pen and ink, and pastels, while Jane Eagan uses pastels and oil paints. Jennifer Ciprano prefers to paint with oil paints.

Despite their preferences for different media, the painters all belong to the Rochester Council on Aging’s Monday Morning Painting Class, an informal group of six to eight people that get together for companionship while they paint. Only six members exhibited and sold paintings at the show because some artists did not have enough work to show.

The Art Show and Sale has taken place once a year for the past three years.

Many of the members also show their work at other area art shows, participate in other art groups, or take lessons.
